چکیده

Abstract Function modification of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) having phosphorus-containing heterocyclic compounds is believed to have thermal and biological applications in the area polymers. The synthesis PVA (P-PVA) was performed using γ-radiation. chemical structure composite polymer confirmed by spectroscopic techniques FT-IR, 1 H, 13 C, 31 P-NMR. Photosensitive properties polymers were investigated ultraviolet spectroscopy. Thermal studies are assigned Differential Scanning Calorimeter (DSC) thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). Data display that P-PVA has more stability than PVA. surface morphology prepared hydrogels scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Quantitative elemental hydrogel done through energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX). Antimicrobial activity different fungi such as Aspergillus fumigatus, Geotrichum candidum, Candida albicans, Syncephal-astrum racemosum, addition bacteria Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillis subtilis (as gram-positive bacteria), Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli gram-negative studied. phosphorus-contained found antimicrobial against various compared pure hydrogels.

Swelling Properties of Hydrogels Containing Phenylboronic Acids

Phenylboronic acids are a class of compounds that bind glucose and other sugars. When polymerized into hydrogels, they provide a convenient nonenzymatic means for sensing glucose concentration, provided competing sugars are present at negligible concentrations. In this paper we provide a comprehensive study of swelling of hydrogels containing methacrylamidophenylboronic acid (MPBA), as a functi...
